Since 1958, when oil was first discovered in the United Arab Emirates, we have worked tirelessly to honour the vision of our Founding Father, the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The first law of thermodynamics, also known as Law of Conservation of Energy, states that energy can neither be created or destroyed; it can only be transferred or changed from one form to another. This, in many ways, is a fitting analogy for the way in which we contribute to the UAE economy: our energy is harnessed by other industries and sectors to enable the growth and diversification of our economy.
Working as one truly united nation – supported by the UAE’s most prominent public and private entities - we have diversified our energy industry; created a thriving industrial sector; and established a thriving knowledge-based economy. We have built an outstanding education ecosystem; created a comprehensive healthcare network; developed a world-class aviation industry; and established a thriving creative community.
Today, our country is a magnet for the global community’s best and brightest minds; and is recognized as a model of tolerance, understanding and positive coexistence. We continue to work together, to bring energy to life.
